JULES LAZAAR is a Bloodletter and a semi-loyal asset belonging to a cult-like organisation heralding under the command of the Witchcrone.

some basics before i fill this in properly:

• born 1/11/2001, a few minutes after his twin, Roman.
• their mother was a drug addict and their father was a deadbeat, tale as old as time. the twins were in foster care for most of their childhood, bouncing from home to home. when separated they would cause problems until they were reunited.
• they were separated permenantly at 10 years old after Roman was adopted by a Witchmother faction, while Julian was left behind before eventually being adopted by a rival Witchcrone faction.
• when it became apparent that Julian had potential / abilities, he was forcibly enrolled into training for the day he would have to kill his brother.
• spent a good portion of his early adolescence being brainwashed / homeschooled / in training. his adoptive family and the wider network of the faction initially did try to sweeten him up, but he was a particularly difficult child without his brother. eventually led to severe disciplining / the shared understanding that he was mostly a lost cause in terms of usefulness after his primary objective was complete. was likely rewarded for 'good' behaviour / given some freedoms for demonstrative compliance.
• he started dealing / turning tricks at sixteen and has basically kept this up into adulthood. he also does stints as a bouncer at Verona, or as a line chef. has had various traumatic encounters doing sex work which he has bottled right up, but will often dissociate when he works with older couples. primarily does underground boxing.
• became aware of his brother's circumstances i think at 18. despite various meetings while dream walking he had not been aware prior 2 this encounter. probably around this time he started co-operating a little more within his faction after coming to the understanding that while his faction may be 'bad', Romy's was worse.
• as of being 24 he has 'attempted' and failed to kill Romy several times, each time resulting in Jules being held in isolation and forced to stay awake.
• initially had planned to find a way to fake both his and Romy's death to run away, but Romy is a lil bit of a cunt n has/will betray him in order to bring him onside with Witchmother.

Jules resides primarily in El Sueño, near the border of Nevada. will often go between the two when needed, though works his side gigs primarily in neutral territory.

Witchcrone info until i fill this in properly:

witchcrone, three main branches, 2 of which are legitimate:

- banking / finance / real estate
- politics
- drug trafficking

each are headed by 3 cousins, and leadership shifts in 12 year cycles. based in arizona, but they have branches in nevada, california, new york and atlanta. generally works with witchmaiden branches as it means they can choke witchcrone branches out of places, etc.

jules is mainly trained / used to kill romy but his abilities are esp useful for moving drugs / swaying big deals a certain way. dream walking is generally discouraged by his 'family' except when they need him to 'implant' an idea or thought in a target. notably he is NOT involved in any of the legit business stuff unless they absolutely do need him 2 use abilities, because this keeps him out of the public eye.

overwhelming sentiment towards him is negative as he's seen as an extension of romy, and they got him too late in his adolescence to really shape n groom him how they would have wanted. jules is of the mind that while his faction is bad, romy's is worse etc. you have to stick it out with the devil you know 2 save the world.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Visual

Jules come in at 6"3 with a wide, athletic build. He has a medium olive complexion, brown eyes and short cropped hair. His hair naturally brown, but he bleaches it white-blonde.

He has a small scar on his left cheek under a mole. He has several tattoos, placements and details tbd. He has one six-inch scar on his lower back.

Voice

Deep voice with a slight vocal fry, and mostly soft spoken. Rarely raises his voice.

Scent

Gravitates towards earthy scents, though likes amber and some sweeter notes. More often than not he smells like the perfumes of club dancers, or whoever he's been on a job with.

Demeanor

Jules keeps his head down, sometimes literally. There's always a slight tension to his shoulders, like he's expecting a fight or ready to flinch away from contact. But - he keeps his head down, he stays quiet, he observes.

Jules is a Bloodletter, with his primary specialties being:

REALITY WARPING / ILLSIONS

Reality warping and illusions are based on Jules own perceptions and observations. He cannot access a memory to shape reality this way, unless this memory has already been shared with him, discussed in great detail, or his illusions are being strengthened/enhanced by Romy, who can access memories.

He can alter physical and mental perceptions of the world around him and up to ten subjects, though this may be more as he hasn't tested it beyond this number. He isn't quite as powerful as say, Wanda Maximoff, but the potential exists so long as he's training the muscle and breathing.

Notably, this power does not work on Witchcrone, Witchmother or Witchmaiden - yet. It may never work, but it also might.

Reality warping does take a physical toll on Jules. If he holds an illusion (especially on his own) for too long, or he tries to spread it too far physically, he can begind to experience symptoms ranging from:

• Migrains/Nosebleeds as early warning signs and as a result for short term over-extension.
• Hemiplegic migraine's and stroke like slurring / cognitive deterioration for extended use.
• Seizures when used beyond his current capability etc.

DREAM WALKING

Jules is a frequent traveler of the dream plains, known as The Unseen Garden. He has relative mastery over this and can access any dream, any time. In dreams, he can:

• alter the dream to anything he wants
• implant an idea, thought, or desire via a dream
• extract information via a dream

While Jules cannot access a memory psychically, he can access a memory if his subject dreams about it. He can coax a subject to dream of a memory, but cannot force it directly. Think of him gently trying to steer a conversation in a particular direction.

He cannot force a subject into falling asleep, and currently cannot access this ability while awake himself.

He has the potential for but does not practice conventional witchcraft.
